Moonflower’s Seeds to Start Grant selection committee is pleased to announce our fall 2025 grant recipient, the Moab Free Health Clinic!
Out of the many excellent proposals we received this cycle, our grant selection committee decided to award this fall’s grant to the Moab Free Health Clinic (MFHC) to support their Double Down Dental program. Established in 2008, the MFHC provides free, inclusive, and integrated healthcare tailored to the unique needs of our remote frontier area in Southeast Utah. Their vision is a healthy and productive Moab where every person is knowledgeable, comfortable, and invested in accessing comprehensive health care.
The Seeds to Start Grant funds will go towards the purchase of an ultrasonic scaler and digital X-ray sensor, which will enable the MFHC to improve dental care efficiency, enhance patient comfort, and double the number of patients served by the clinic’s dentists. This will significantly improve access to dental care in southeastern Utah, especially for under- and uninsured patients.
We look forward to contributing to this program and seeing its impact on our local community’s health and wellness!
Grant Report from the Wellness Collective
The fall 2024 Seeds to Start Grant recipient was the Wellness Collective, who used the funds for their Meal Support Circle, a weekly Nutritional Support Project that was designed as a facilitated, relationship-based program that combined shared meals, nutrition education, and supportive conversation. The majority of the grant funds were used to purchase ingredients for meal preparation (about 40% of which were reinvested back into Moonflower) and outreach materials for the program.

Our biannual Seeds to Start grant funds aims to assist non-profit applicants seeking funding for a high-impact project or purchase focused on expanding community food security, promoting environmental justice, and/or directly benefiting underrepresented communities in need.
