We are now hiring a full-time, year-round baker in our Datura Deli. We produce a wide variety of baked goods from scratch daily using local, organic, non-GMO, and natural ingredients as often as possible. The deli staff ensures the coolers and deli case are stocked with everything necessary for a busy day of cooking and assembling all our prepared grab-and-go foods.

Datura Deli bakery case

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare baked goods/dessert items to be sold daily in the bakery case
  • Clean and stock deli and bakery cases according to procedure, utilizing proper signage
  • Maintain working knowledge of current deli recipes and help to develop new recipes
  • Maintain working knowledge of current food trends and specialty diets
  • Adhere to Moonflower Community Co-op ingredient policy
  • Receive product deliveries
  • Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to department procedure
  • Maintain back-stock areas according to department standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet co-op needs

Datura Deli case

We are now hiring a part-time prep cook in our Datura Deli. We move through a lot of produce daily, between salads, sandwiches, baked goods, and freshly-prepared entrees on the hot bar and in the grab and go case. The deli staff ensures the coolers are stocked with everything necessary for a busy day of cooking and assembling all our ready-to-eat products. You’ll be working with whole, organic food, sourced locally as often as possible.

Benefits include a competitive hourly wage, employee discount, education stipend, health/wellness benefit after six months of employment, commuter benefit, and bonuses. Pay starts at $17.00 DOE with potential for increase after 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial kitchen experience with high-volume food preparation strongly preferred
  • Physical stamina and motivation
  • Retail experience and strong work ethic
  • Interest in local food systems, specialty diets, and the cooperative business model
  • Attention to detail, promptness, and cleanliness required
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work collectively with others
