Fresh off the farm, we just got some more of @castlevalleyinc’s specialty potato varietals, including Huckleberry Golds, Smilin’ Eyes, and Gogu/Rose Valley. 🥔 These potatoes are all high in antioxidants and grown organically, without chemicals or pesticides of any kind.

🥔 Huckleberry Gold potatoes have a beautiful, dark purple skin and a rich flavored yellow interior that really does taste already buttered. They are low on the glycemic index, making them an excellent choice for people with high blood sugar levels, as they do not cause the rapid spikes in blood sugar levels that normally come with eating starchy foods. They are wonderful roasted, baked, or boiled till tender.

🥔 Gogu Valley potatoes are a raw eating cultivar with lovely red skin over creamy white flesh. These tubers were first bred in Korea for their antibiotic-like properties.

🥔 Smilin’ Eyes have beautiful yellow skin and flesh with splashes of pink around their “smilin’ eyes.” They are excellent for baking, boiling, mashing, and creating French fries with their amazing flavor.

You’ve been asking, and the answer is: Thanksgiving turkeys are here! 🦃🦃🦃 Pick yours up today or reserve one at the register or on the phone: (435) 259-5712. Turkeys must be paid for to be held at the store.

Choose from organic ($6.15/lb) or pasture-raised ($4.40/lb) @deistelfamilyranch turkeys. Both are fed a vegetarian blend with no antibiotics or growth hormones and are animal welfare certified by the Global Animal Partnership.

Bonus: Since today is this month’s 5% Day, 5% of today’s sales will go to @activereentry (see previous post)!

This Tuesday (tomorrow) is our 5% Day for @activereentry! 🙌

Active Re-Entry’s mission is to help individuals with disabilities live as independently as possible in their own homes and community. ARE has youth and adult activity groups, provides medical equipment through our loan bank, and offers information and referral services and more.

Funds from the 5% Day will be used to purchase durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, etc.) for our loan bank to loan out to members of the community. 🦽

Every second Tuesday of the month, we donate 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. Join us in supporting Moab Solutions by shopping the co-op today!
