Dying your hair the natural way with Andy Kenney

If you want to switch from chemical dyes or start covering the gray, and you want to stay away from chemicals, Henna is the process to help you get gorgeous hair without the damage, in a wide range of color options.
An all-natural, plant-based, organic product, that not only covers the gray but strengthens your hair and scalp, Henna has been used for centuries by women and men across the globe.
This three-hour workshop is a comprehensive look at the plant, the color spectrum, and the DIY process of coloring your hair with Henna, Indigo, and Cassia.
Discussions:
• The history of Henna as a hair coloring technique
• The easy DIY process from start to finish
• A wide range of recipes and keeping a journal to get the color just right
• Using Henna over synthetic dyes
Andy will demonstrate the coloring process during the workshop. Each participant will be able to color a sample strand (or two) of their hair.

Bio:
Mrs Kennedy has been a lover of natural things for decades, and has spent bringing the concept of all-natural into her home and family since living on an “intentional community” in Oregon in the mid-1990s. Andy made the switch to Henna in 2012 after months of researching the natural dying process, even though none of her friends, colleagues, practitioners or hair techs knew anything about the process. Now after two years, 10 applications and half a dozen alterations to her “recipe,” she has accomplished a key goal: To have Mom’s gorgeous red hair (a lifelong envy!). When Andy isn’t researching natural topics like Henna, no moss gross on her stone: Andy is the Program and Marketing Director for the nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, she is a freelance writer, photographer, designer and owner of AJDesign and Photography and Andys Idea Factory, and is a holistic practitioner and teacher at Innerself Lightworks.
