This year’s first Round Up at the Register campaign will be held from February 1st-14th and will benefit the Youth Garden Project! For a two-week period, once a quarter, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase.
The Youth Garden Project’s mission is to cultivate healthy children, families, and community through educational programs and connecting people with food from seed to table. YGP uses its 1.5 acre organic garden as an experiential learning lab, a source of sustainable local food, and a beautiful community gathering space.
YGP served over 1000 pre-K through 12th graders via 9 different youth programs, and grew over 3,000 pounds of produce that was distributed to the community in a variety of ways, including over 20% donated to Moab residents experiencing food insecurity.
YGP is always free and open to the public (customers can visit anytime!) and they have opportunities for all ages (including adults, particularly via their volunteer program). Above all, YGP’s goal is to get more people of all ages outside and connected to their local food system, to the environment, and to each other.
100% of the funds from the Round Up campaign will go directly towards YGP’s youth programming (field trips, summer camp, middle and high school workshops, summer internship program, and afterschool clubs) and community events.
