This quarter’s Round Up at the Register fundraiser will be held from August 1st-14th and will benefit the Grand County Food Bank! For a two-week period each quarter, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit.
The Grand County Food Bank assists those in need to become self-sufficient or to avoid greater levels of dependency through innovative, comprehensive services, and collaborative efforts.
The Grand County Food Bank, located at 56 N 200 S, accepts food and other donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12pm or by calling the food bank to schedule at 435-259-6456.
Items the Food Bank needs regularly:
- Dried pasta noodles – any type (spaghetti, macaroni, elbow, etc.)
- Pasta sauce – canned preferably but any sauce works
- Canned soups – any types, especially ones people can cook big meals with like tomato, cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, chicken noodle, etc.
- Canned chili
- Any type of canned meat, beef, pork, etc.
- Any type of frozen meat in smaller quantities like 1 or 2lb packages – chicken breast and hamburger go a long way
- Frozen or canned veggies and fruits
- Oatmeal
- Any single type meals – pasta sides, mac and cheese, hamburger helper, Rice-a-Roni, frozen TV dinners, etc. (anything like that that kids can make themselves or singles can utilize)
- Rice and beans (although they are well stocked on those for now)
