Round Up at the Register for Active Re-Entry

Loading Events

This quarter’s Round Up at the Register fundraiser will be held from November 1st-14th and will benefit Active Re-Entry! For a two-week period each quarter, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit.

Active Re-Entry is a community-based program that assists individuals with disabilities to achieve or maintain a self-sufficient, productive life and live independently within their own communities. They are committed to promoting the rights, dignity, and quality of life of all persons with disabilities.

Active Re-Entry provides many core services, including:

  • Independent living skills training
  • Information about and referral to other community resources
  • Individual and systems advocacy
  • Peer counseling and support
  • Nursing home transition and diversion
  • Youth postsecondary life transition

Active Re-Entry’s programs and support also include:

  • Loaning out assistive technology such as wheelchairs, walkers, grab bars, and shower chairs from their loan bank.
  • Securing funding to purchase assistive technology such as hearing aids, stair lifts, and ramps for individuals.
  • Low vision services to individuals who have lost or are losing their sight.
  • A friendly visitor program that offers support for isolated or homebound individuals.

100% of funds raised from the Round Up will stay in Moab and go towards purchasing durable medical equipment that will be available through Active Re-Entry’s local Loan Bank Program. The loan bank serves individuals ranging from those with short term injuries just released from the hospital to those with permanent disabilities who are unable to afford these items but need them to keep living independently in their homes.
