Artist Reception with Guest Artist CC

Loading Events

Join us for a special artist reception with our featured local artist for the month of May, Coyote Corvidae (CC)!

Nearly all of CC’s work is influenced by the backcountry where he spends much of his time, generally the Colorado Plateau. Across the last few decades he has rambled throughout the southwest in the Chihuahua, Sonoran, and Mojave deserts, both in the US and Mexico. He has sketched and painted sporadically throughout his life, but in the last three years CC has worked with an intensive focus on the deserts and mountains of this region.

In other artistic ventures, CC worked in the NEA-awarded theatre group Los Angeles Poverty Department for ten years, where he acted, directed, and produced plays presented across the US and festivals in Europe. He also produced a radio play which was well received in Moab’s own KZMU radio festival.

Stop by our Datura Deli community space and see what you think of CC’s work. Light refreshments will be provided. Mckennaugh Kelly, a full time resident of the highway, will be playing original music inspired by asphalt and sand. A raft guide by day and night, she thus travels the rivers as well, the original roads of the land.
