Join us on Tuesday, February 11, in supporting the Resiliency Hub!
Moab’s Resiliency Hub has the mission, “To steward dynamic public learning hubs to inspire community resilience initiatives in Moab.”
Our current programs include:
Holistic Waste Management: We prioritize the creative reuse of material resources through upcycling. Join us for the Trashion Show, an upcycled outfit dance party on February 29th at Woody’s Tavern.
Food and Farming: We value food access for all members of our community and do this through our Moab Community Gardens (MoCom) program. We run the East Bench Community Garden, the upcoming International Nibble Garden, donate to the Food Bank, and are working on new community garden spaces at Our Village and on City of Moab property.
Development: We run and manage the CommuniTea Garden at 100 West and Walnut Lane. This space embodies many of our values by using and reusing resources, brings more safe green space to the community, provides a public venue for gathering and relaxation, exemplifies water management techniques, and is growing fruit and edible herbs for pubic use.
Join us for the Trashion Show on February 29th (Leap Day!), 2020 at 8 pm at Woody’s Tavern for a fun night of music, dancing, and an upcycled fashion runway show. Dress in your homemade costume made from reused materials (think reclaimed throw-aways, found bits, and funky recyclables). See the Trashion Show 2020! Facebook event for more info. Ten dollars at the door supports Resiliency Hub in all their work and gets you a night full of fun with your community, live music with the Fiery Furnace Marching Band and DJ Bob, and prizes for best costumes.
Every second Tuesday of the month, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. If you are interested in signing your organization up for a 5% Day, please fill out this form.
