BEACON is an afterschool program that provides an intentional blend of enrichment and academic assistance support for students in Grand County, Utah. BEACON has been operating since 2005 and serves more than half of Grand County students in the K-8 age range. They consistently serve children and youth from marginalized families with more than 60% of their students qualifying for the free and reduced lunch program. BEACON also offers information and events for families throughout the school year, a two week summer camp in partnership with Moab City Recreation Department, and meaningful opportunities for local businesses and organizations to support children and families in the community as community partners and funding sponsors.
Every second Tuesday of the month, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. Request a 5% Day for your organization by signing up here.
