Moonflower Community Co-op would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all who participated in The Phase of the Moon this year, our anniversary celebration and annual owner meeting. In case you missed it, enjoy this recap of the day’s events!
We celebrated all day by offering co-op members a 15% discount off local and regional products. From 11am – 4pm, several local and regional vendors set up tables in the Datura Deli to demo, sample, and promote their products. Patrons and owners were able to meet and greet with representatives from the following vendors:
- Wasatch Organics (raw honey from the Wasatch Front, UT)
- Pure Synergy (superfood supplements from Moab)
- Nature’s Fusions (essential oils from Provo, UT)
- Sundial Medicinals (herbal teas and personal care products from Moab)
- Antelope Trading Company (fine drinking chocolates from Cedaredge, CO)
- Belle Tige (organic skincare products from Moab)
- Paradox Produce (organically grown produce from Paradox, CO)
We would also like to send a huge thank you to our generous local and regional vendors who provided an excellent spread of products for customers and owners to sample throughout the day:
- Super Salve Co. (personal care products from Mogollon, NM)
- Redmond (Real Salt from Redmond, UT)
- Caffe Ibis (organic fair trade coffee from Logan, UT)
- Beehive Cheese (artisanal cheese from Uintah, UT)
- Sister Root Medicinals (herbal teas and personal care products from Castle Valley, UT)
Several members of the Board of Directors tabled at the front of the store, greeting owners and patrons and providing information about the co-op to prospective members. Julie Albina, Board President, also provided an astonishing array of delicious baked goods!
Moonflower employee Emily Terris brought her massage chair and gave massages to all who lined up for one. We also enjoyed hearing music provided by David Steward, Glen Sherrill, Tom Arthur, and Linsey Mountford of Wasatch Organics, who brought her harp!
Following the anniversary celebration, we held our annual owner meeting in the Datura Deli, where the Board of Directors and general manager gave their updates from the last year. Below the photos is the slideshow that was presented at the meeting.
Finally, we served a delicious homemade meal to the community to conclude the day’s festivities. Another gigantic thank you to our amazing cooks who provided the food:
- Lynne Mitchell (marinated garbanzo bean and cucumber salad, onion & black pepper bread)
- Kaki Hunter (vegan ratatouille w/roasted vegetables)
- Kaye Davis (peach ice cream and sorbet)
- Our amazing Datura Deli staff!
Many thanks again to all who came together to help make this event happen!
