SUMMARY:Success Through Communication
DESCRIPTION:To communicate or not… that is the question! \nIn other words\, you are only as successful as your ability to communicate. \nAttend an informal evening with one-on-one\, interactive demonstrations and actual practice on the subject of communication\, taught by Britta Kingsley. \nLearn how to get your point across even in unfamiliar or friendly settings\, and much more. You will walk away with increased confidence and the ability to improve any situation using communication alone. And it’s fun! \nJoin us in the Grand County Library Large Meeting Room on Tuesday\, April 2nd at 5:30pm. \nAbout Britta Kingsley \nWe live in a smaller community and communication may be even more important for us. We would like to enjoy healthy\, enduring friendships. We like to welcome newcomers to our community. How do we accomplish this with live communication? \nI was born in Denmark (a small European country of 5 million people\, then) and had planned out my grammar school teacher education. However just a few months into it I got introduced to a new philosophy which got me very curious. I attended a class on communication – which ran over 3 weeks every weekday night. I learned a lot. I will be going over some of the things I learned on this very first of my many studies. \nSince then I moved to England where I studied for 6 years and ended up with a University degree. I have traveled all over Europe\, India\, and Russia and used my skills as an instructor\, educator\, and counselor. \nSince moving to USA in 2004 I have continued with advanced studies on this subject and love teaching it in a lively and practical setting. Join me.

When you shop at Moonflower during these two weeks\, you will have the option of rounding up your purchase total to the nearest dollar (or more)\, and 100% of your change will go directly to MoCom Gardens! \nMoab Community (MoCom) Gardens was founded in 2018 with the mission to support local food security by providing growing spaces to the community\, so that individuals with limited or no access to land or gardening resources may have an affordable opportunity to grow food for themselves and their families. \nThe project aims to create welcoming community spaces that are open and safe for people of all abilities and backgrounds. \nThis volunteer-run organization currently manages three community gardens in the Moab valley\, at East Bench\, Our Village\, and WabiSabi. Funds from the Round Up will go toward the development of the new community garden at Arroyo Crossing\, the new affordable housing development in Spanish Valley. \nLearn more about our Round Up at the Register program here.

SUMMARY:5% Day for Wellness Collective
DESCRIPTION:Every second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. \nJoin us on Tuesday\, November 14th to support the Wellness Collective! \n\nWellness Collective is dedicated to promoting the well-being of the Moab community. We believe in ensuring equitable access to health and wellness programs and resources\, striving to make a positive impact on the lives of our community members. Our programs are designed with a strong emphasis on providing essential mental health support. \nOur vision is to create a thriving and healthy community where each individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We are continuously working towards this vision by adapting our services to meet the evolving needs of the Moab community. \nWellness Collective plans to use funding from the 5% Day to initiate and expand two new long-term wellness programs: \n\nExpanded Health Hikes: In collaboration with the Canyonland Field Institute\, we have ambitious plans to expand on the Health Hikes program. This initiative combines the benefits of outdoor therapy with a comprehensive mental health and wellness component. By leveraging the breathtaking natural landscapes of Moab\, we aim to provide a unique and therapeutic experience for community members\, fostering physical and mental well-being. This expansion will allow us to reach a broader audience and offer a holistic approach to health and wellness.\nTherapeutic Art Program: Recognizing the healing power of art\, we are excited to introduce a therapeutic art program for the Moab community. This program will provide a creative outlet for individuals seeking to address emotional\, psychological\, and spiritual needs through artistic expression. Art therapy has been shown to be a transformative tool for personal growth and healing\, and we believe it will be a valuable addition to our offerings. This program will be open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds\, further diversifying our services and addressing a broader spectrum of community needs.\n\nIf you are interested in signing your organization up for a 5% Day\, please fill out this form.

Each class will build on something from the last\, but also be accessible for drop-ins. \nThis month will be all about appreciation complimented with weekly classes focusing on how to connect with your own abundance and joy. The first Monday will include lecture and yoga centered around how deeper healing work can truly open up deeper joy and connection. The stories can invite humor and curiosity as we explore the modern human experience with grace. Within this spiritual container\, we’ll explore trauma and the undigested hurts. The invitation is in how we create a personal practice that speaks to the needs of our soul. SUMMARY:November ArtWalk with Louise Seiler
DESCRIPTION:For the last Moab ArtWalk of the year\, we are featuring local painter Louise Seiler! \n\nSometimes we get that “second chance” in life. I’m pleased to again be invited to show my new paintings after the 2020 Covid outbreak. This time I look especially forward to the artist’s reception/gallery stroll and visiting with friends I could not three years ago. My whimsical style shows a portraiture study of pre-Columbian figures and their totem spirit-guide creatures. \n\nCome see what you think and meet Louise at this month’s ArtWalk! Light refreshments will be provided.
