SUMMARY:Round Up at the Register for Arches Education Center
DESCRIPTION:This quarter’s Round Up at the Register campaign will be held from May 1st-14th and will benefit Arches Education Center! For a two-week period\, once a quarter\, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase. \nArches Education Center empowers individuals to become self-sufficient\, to acquire the skills necessary for employment\, effective communication\, and personal success. \nAEC assists adults in becoming literate and obtaining the knowledge they need in order to complete their secondary education or to enhance their English language skills. \n100% of the funds from the Round Up campaign will go directly towards GED testing fees\, English for Speakers of Other Languages curriculum\, and high school completion curriculum for undeserved or incarcerated individuals and those struggling financially. \nTo learn more about our Round Up at the Register program\, click here.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, May 9th to support Rim to Rim Restoration! \nRim to Rim Restoration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on restoring native riparian ecosystems and building community relationships connecting land managers\, researchers\, local residents\, and other project partners. Rim to Rim works across administrative boundaries assisting with project coordination\, technical knowledge\, and native plant materials. \nRim to Rim has worked in Mill and Pack Creeks for over 15 years\, and they continue to address new challenges and opportunities created by the floods of 2022. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvery second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience\, but our instructor is sick and unable to teach the class at the originally scheduled time.** \nLearn how to cook Chinese fried rice\, Japanese sushi\, and Lao sticky rice using traditional cooking tools and western alternatives. \nKendra Kurihara will teach how to make several Asian dishes and demonstrate how they can be easily adapted for the tools in your kitchen. All dishes will be vegetarian; one will include eggs. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the May Moab ArtWalk on Saturday\, May 13th from 5-8pm. Stop by the Datura Deli to check out the current art show on display. Meet and chat with our featured local artist for the month\, Gabriela. Light refreshments will be provided. \nLocal artist Gabriela is a self-taught painter who grew up in the circus and theaters all across Europe. She mostly uses watercolors on 100% cotton canvas using Winsor Newton paints\, as well as some acrylics. Her colorful creations blend traditional European folk art and Impressionist styles. \nGabriela has shown her work in numerous galleries and sold art all over the country\, including in a high end gallery in Santa Fe for many years\, and across Europe. One of her proudest accomplishments was when some of her artwork was accepted  by UNICEF and a planetarium of Phoenix. \nCome see what you think at the May Moab ArtWalk!
