DESCRIPTION:Every second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. Join us this month in supporting 500 Women Scientists on Tuesday\, March 9th! \n500 Women Scientists is an international organization of women scientists that focuses on empowering women to pursue careers in science and increasing access to science in local communities. The Southeast Utah chapter includes over 50 women in the region working in science disciplines. Our mission is to share the importance of science in our community\, namely by increasing scientific literacy for locals and tourists and supporting students of science (especially girls). The group meets monthly and contributes to scientific outreach such as contributing a “Science Happenings” article to the monthly Moab Happenings publication and participating in events such as the Arches Hotspot Leave No Trace campaign and the Moab Festival of Science.
