SUMMARY:Round Up at the Register for the Youth Garden Project
DESCRIPTION:This quarter’s Round Up at the Register campaign will run from April 1st-14th and will benefit the Youth Garden Project! For a two-week period\, once each quarter\, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar\, to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase. \nThe Youth Garden Project’s mission is to cultivate healthy children\, families\, and community through educational programs and the profound act of connecting people with food from seed to table. YGP achieves their mission through youth and community programs using their 1.5 acre production garden and orchard. The Garden is at the center of all they do. \nThe Youth Garden Project serves over 1600 youth and 500 adults in garden-based programs every year. \nYGP meets community needs while using the garden as an interdisciplinary learning tool. YGP is making a difference in the way people and future generations relate to and are learning about the environment\, local food systems\, and growing their own food. In addition\, the YGP garden learning environment provides space for youth to develop positive relationships with peers and adults and learn essential skills in team building\, communication\, healthy eating\, and so much more. \nFunds from the Round Up campaign will support the Youth Garden Project’s youth and community programs. \nIf your organization is interested in participating in Round Up at the Register\, please apply here or ask for an application at our office.

DESCRIPTION:Join us Tuesday\, April 14th in supporting BEACON Afterschool Program! \nBEACON is an afterschool program that provides an intentional blend of enrichment and academic assistance support for students in Grand County\, Utah. BEACON has been operating since 2005 and serves more than half of Grand County students in the K-8 age range. They consistently serve children and youth from marginalized families with more than 60% of their students qualifying for the free and reduced lunch program. BEACON also offers information and events for families throughout the school year\, a two week summer camp in partnership with Moab City Recreation Department\, and meaningful opportunities for local businesses and organizations to support children and families in the community as community partners and funding sponsors. \nEvery second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community.
