SUMMARY:5% Day for Mindfulness in Education
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, April 11th to support Mindfulness in Education! \n\nOur mission is “is to strengthen youth’s learning capacity\, mental wellbeing\, empathy\, and ability to thrive and contribute by teaching yoga and mindfulness skills to students.” We offer yoga and mindfulness classes at both the high school and the elementary school. Our focus in the community is to help our students learn how to better cope with stress and anxiety and to hopefully teach them skills that they can carry with them throughout their lives. These funds will only be used to compensate our instructors. \nAll administration comes from volunteers. We are a small non-profit and any funding we receive goes directly to the teachers who are dedicated and impassioned about teaching these important skills. We are currently working on a simple website that is being done by a volunteer. \nWe are also working with school administrators as we would like to be able to expand our offerings to the middle school in the future. Currently we are working at keeping our current programs funded for the coming school year. \nStudies have shown us the importance of good mental health. We have the students submit evaluations at the end of each trimester. It is apparent from these evaluations how much they are taking away from these classes. We will continue working to keep going to further benefit as many students as we can! \n\n\n\n\n\nEvery second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. If you are interested in signing your organization up for a 5% Day\, please fill out this form.

SUMMARY:Round Up at the Register for Youth Garden Project
DESCRIPTION:This year’s first Round Up at the Register campaign will be held from February 1st-14th and will benefit the Youth Garden Project! For a two-week period\, once a quarter\, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase. \nThe Youth Garden Project’s mission is to cultivate healthy children\, families\, and community through educational programs and connecting people with food from seed to table. YGP uses its 1.5 acre organic garden as an experiential learning lab\, a source of sustainable local food\, and a beautiful community gathering space. \nYGP served over 1000 pre-K through 12th graders via 9 different youth programs\, and grew over 3\,000 pounds of produce that was distributed to the community in a variety of ways\, including over 20% donated to Moab residents experiencing food insecurity. \nYGP is always free and open to the public (customers can visit anytime!) and they have opportunities for all ages (including adults\, particularly via their volunteer program). Above all\, YGP’s goal is to get more people of all ages outside and connected to their local food system\, to the environment\, and to each other. \n100% of the funds from the Round Up campaign will go directly towards YGP’s youth programming (field trips\, summer camp\, middle and high school workshops\, summer internship program\, and afterschool clubs) and community events. \nTo learn more about our Round Up at the Register program\, click here.

SUMMARY:Round Up at the Register for Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab
DESCRIPTION:Our Round Up at the Register campaign for this quarter will run from August 1st-14th for Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab! For a two-week period\, approximately once a quarter\, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase. \nUnderdog’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate companion animals from the Four Corners reservations of the American Southwest through vet care\, spay/neuter\, and adoption services\, while supporting Native Americans in the care of their animals. \nFunds raised from the Round Up campaign will be used locally for vet care\, medicines\, puppy food\, transportation\, and an ongoing concrete project to make their shelter safer for their pups. On the reservations\, Underdog works to combat the stray and at-large companion animal population by providing no-cost vaccination clinics and subsidizing spay/neuter services for the native population. Each spay/neuter clinic costs Underdog $5000 to contract with a mobile spay and neuter unit and provide lodging\, food\, and gas to volunteers. During the clinics\, Underdog staff and volunteers spay and neuter up to 250-300 dogs and cats and provide hundreds of vaccinations to the animals! \nIf your organization is interested in participating in Round Up at the Register\, please apply here or ask for an application at our office.

SUMMARY:5% Day for Boulder Outdoor Survival School
DESCRIPTION:Every second Tuesday of the month\, Moonflower Co-op donates 5% of the day’s proceeds to an organization doing important work in our community. \nJoin us on Tuesday\, June 14th to support the Boulder Outdoor Survival School in Boulder\, Utah! \n \nThe Boulder Outdoor Survival School is a non-profit outdoor survival school in Boulder\, Utah that began in 1968. BOSS is dedicated to the instruction and preservation of traditional living skills and the development of people through experiences within the natural world. \nBOSS offers 7-\, 14-\, and 28-day field courses that are simulated survival expeditions\, as well as skill-specific courses like Wilderness First Responder\, Hunter/Gatherer\, and Navigation. These courses “get you disconnected from the screen(s) and reconnected to being a human.” While a BOSS course is not the only way to do this\, these field courses are unique because they are simulated survival experiences that explicitly challenge the participant’s spirit/mind/body in ways other outdoor courses often avoid. Students typically gain a deeper understanding of self and group reliance and what matters most in life\, as well as insight\, growth\, renewal\, and discovery through their interactions with the land and their fellow expedition-mates. \nA blurb from BOSS: \n“If you have ever felt like you were ill-prepared and/or curious how you would fare in a survival situation\, a BOSS field course might be for you. Taking a course with the Boulder Outdoor Survival School will provide you with unique skills that are applicable in any outdoor context and everyday life. It is more than just challenging yourself. It is about discovering insights into who you are through pushing yourself further than you would on your own. SUMMARY:Round Up at the Register for the Boulder Outdoor Survival School
DESCRIPTION:This month’s Round Up at the Register campaign will be held from June 17-30th and will benefit the Boulder Outdoor Survival School in Boulder\, Utah! For a two-week period\, approximately once a quarter\, we offer the opportunity for owners and customers to “round up” their purchases to the next whole dollar to raise funds for a local non-profit’s project or special purchase. \nYour change supports The Boulder Outdoor Survival School (BOSS)\, a non-profit outdoor survival school in Boulder\, Utah that began in 1968. The knowledge of the past and how to work with what the Land offers is as applicable today as it has ever been. We hope to take ya out on the trail with not much more than the clothes on your back\, a knife\, and a water bottle.” \nIf your organization is interested in participating in Round Up at the Register\, please apply here or ask for an application at our office.
