DESCRIPTION:The emotional domain of resilience is where we tend to leak the most energy\, causing a physiological impact on our health—mentally\, physically and socially. Learning emotional intelligence is crucial for healthy personal and interpersonal relationships and generally living a life well lived. \nThis interactive class will provide a brief overview of the science and practice of living more in sync\, coherent lives. \nWhat you’ll learn: \n\nThe science of coherence\, resilience\, the nervous system\, and heart rhythms\nHow our emotions are reflected in our heart rhythms\nHow coherence affects physical and mental performance\nA Quick Coherence® technique for balancing mental and emotional energy\n\nParticipants will practice an interactive research-based exercise to illustrate the relationship between typical emotional responses\, their intensity\, and how those responses affect the mind\, body\, and performance. \nWhen we understand how emotions affect our physiology and therefore the health of our body and then have the awareness tools to identify what we are feeling at any given moment\, we feel more empowered to be in control of our lives. \nAbout Sarah Cook: \nI am a HeartMath® Certified Coach & Trainer and enjoying sharing the science and spirit of getting in sync\, or in heart-brain coherence in order to build personal resilience\, increase our emotional intelligence and add more heart to our health and vitality. I am also in the process of becoming a Trauma-Sensitive Certified Professional through HeartMath. I have been a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for 14 years and a licensed massage therapist for 12 years with a thriving private practice. DESCRIPTION:Join Moonflower Co-op and Nikko Miyatake\, owner of Cacao Breath and Maya Superfoods\, for an educational cacao ceremony and full body wellness experience including guided breathwork\, movement\, and meditation. The aim of this class is to bring attendees into a state of deep inner connectedness through yogic practices and the power of cacao. \nSip on minimally processed\, ceremonial grade cacao from Cacao Breath while learning about its health benefits\, historic and cultural use\, and processing. Following the cacao ceremony\, Nikko will lead the class through the following: \n\n5 Tibetan rites: A yoga sequence designed to keep the spine flexible and strong as we age; promotes blood flow and mobilizes all the joints\nSKY breathing technique: A sequence of 3 breath techniques to bring the practitioner into a state of inner connectedness and relaxation\nGlow meditation + sound: Heart opening meditation\n\nFree and open to all. The class will take place in the Stage Room at the MARC at 111 E 100 N. Yoga mats\, blankets\, and blocks will be provided. \nAbout Nikko: \nNikko Miyatake is a dedicated entrepreneur and holistic wellness practitioner with over a decade of experience guiding transformative cacao ceremonies and yoga/pranayama classes.
