The Art of Wildcrafted Essential Oils

By | October 17th, 2017|Categories: Lifetime Learning at Moonflower|0 Comments

On Friday, October 14th, Moonflower hosted Eric Scott Bresselsmith. Eric owns House of Aromatics, an essential oils distillery based in Boulder, Utah. He taught an engaging class on his personal journey toward using and ultimately distilling his own wildcrafted essential oils. Eric’s class was well attended and began with a silent meditation accompanied by a spritz of hydrosol (a product of the essential oil distillation process) around each participant. Eric wanted everyone to feel grounded and present in the space. He then explained his journey toward becoming an essential oils distiller. Eric’s initial hesitancy to utilize essential oils changed when [...]

This causes stress and emotional pain in our bodies which can make improving our health even more difficult. [...]

From Toxic House to Healing Home

by Elana Davidson           By Elana Davidson Do you know what’s in your shampoo and conditioner? Your dish soap? Your laundry detergent? How about your sunscreen, your lotions, or your make-up? Probably less than you know about the foods you eat. You might think that ingesting something is far more harmful than putting in contact with your skin, and while there may very well be a difference, it is not as big as you might think. What you put on your skin absorbs and goes directly into your body, and studies have shown that in just [...]

Digestion, Transformation and Becoming Our Best Selves

By | August 23rd, 2017|Categories: Lifetime Learning at Moonflower|0 Comments

By Emily Stock Influences on Digestion The digestive system is what brings us together. The intestines are layered with immune and nervous system material, and the liver and blood have large roles in the process. Emotions, conjuring either pathway of stress response, play a major role in our physiology, starting with digestion. In this class, we will discuss some major influences on the digestive process: nutritional deficits, bacterial imbalance, food intolerances and emotional patterns can be some root causes for problems. We will discover some ways to remedy the negative influences and how to introduce positive ones, including herbal therapies. [...]
