Presenting a Bokashi Workshop by dedicated fermenter from Bozeman, Montana, Kathleen Rauch, in collaboration with both Moonflower Coop and USU Moab in the Moonflower Coop Library. Bokashi is bokashi compost 2bokashi composta revolutionary, earth-friendly modification of traditional composting that involves fermenting food waste before adding it to soil or a compost pile.

In this demonstration workshop, we will explore the myriad applications of Bokashi for home, farm and commercial applications.   Learn how to recover precious nutrients from a full range of waste/organic material to create vibrant, healthy, microbial rich soil.   We will also cover a simple method of cultivating the beneficial microorganisms that are essential for the Bokashi process.

Kathleen Rauch is a dedicated fermenter from Bozeman, Montana. She has a passion for cultured foods and beverages and the ways in which these cultures inform a community through their microbial alchemy.  She is the founder and owner of Bokashi Lotus.
